Beginning this two-day odyssey, we will embark from Tirana to explore the majestic beauty of North Macedonia. Our first stop will be to visit both Ohrid and Ohrid Lake, sites of incomparable grandeur and global renown, having achieved UNESCO recognition due to their historical and cultural significance and pristine natural splendor. We shall then proceed to Skopje, the nation’s capital and largest city, to marvel at its impressive architecture and bustling atmosphere. On the second day of our tour, we will travel to Pristina, the dynamic economic center of Kosovo, and Prizren, the ancient historical capital of the world’s youngest republic, renowned for its unique cultural heritage and captivating scenery.

DAY 1

Tirana to Kosovo

Prizren

As we set out from Tirana, we head towards Prizren, an esteemed title of the Cultural Capital of Kosovo. Lying along the Bistrica River, under the shadow of the timeless Prizren Castle, this city has been a beacon for Albanian history and politics of the nineteenth century

Albanian League of Prizren Museum

Thus, we cannot pass up the opportunity to visit the House of the Prizren League, a significant landmark which marked the first effort for independence and the establishment of a parliament and government. Furthermore, we can acquaint ourselves with the culture of the area by visiting the Ethnographic Museum housed in the House of the League.

Sinan Pasha Mosque and Old Bazaar

Embark on a journey of authentic exploration and visit the renowned “Stone Bridge of Love” and the Traditional Bazaar of Prizren. Located around the majestic Sinan Pasha Mosque, this is the most captivating and historically enriched part of Prizren. Wander down the ancient streets of the old city and marvel in the colourful traditional bazaar, where charming handcrafts and exquisite perfume shops line every corner.

Pristina

Situated around 260 Kilometers away from Tirana lies the capital and largest city of Kosovo: Pristina. Habited since the Old Stone Age, from the ancient Vinča culture, it is one of the most riveting archaeological and historical sites.
Situated in the heart of Pristina, the grand Library brims with over two million copies of materials, some dating as far back as the 15th century. Its architecture is a prime example of Yugoslavian Brutalism and is a masterful synthesis of Byzantine, Ottoman, and Serbian design, making it a veritable microcosm of the city. Since 1982, the Library has served as the National Library of Kosovo and continues to offer a majestic glimpse into its past.

After a long day in Kosovo we head to the capital of North Macedonia which is only one hour away from Pristina .

DAY 2

Exploring North Macedonia and back to Tirana

City Tour of Skopje

Presently, Skopje holds the distinction of being the most prominent hub for economic, political, and cultural activities in the region. With roots tracing back to early antiquity, the city has housed several ancient and medieval kingdoms, earning it the nickname “The Memorial City of Statues”. It serves as a living testimony to the rich cultural heritage and history of the area, spanning centuries. The iconic Vardar River, with its network of bridges, serves as a unifying force between the two contrasting faces of the city. On one side, visitors can witness the contemporary side of Skopje, primarily constructed post the…”

Ohrid city Tour

After 3 hours and a half of travelling we will reach the historical city of Ohrid, where for centuries the cradle of different cultures converges together. Founded from the presence of Ilirain and Greek tribes, throughout its history it has been subject to the influence of various empires – from the Roman, Byzantine, Bulgarian, Turkish, Serbian, Yugoslavian and finally, as part of the Independent Republic of North Macedonia.
Perched atop the hills of the city, Ohrid has been standing since the rule of Bulgarian Tsar Samuil in the 10th Century.

Kaneo Church

Perched atop the precipice of Kaneo Beach, facing Lake Ohrid in the ancient city of Ohrid, North Macedonia stands a majestic church devoted to John of Patmos, the author of Revelation, who some believe to be the esteemed John the Apostle.

Ohrid Old Bazaar

Venture to the City center and the venerable Old Bazaar area, where we can observe the traditional dwellings of Ohrid. Much of the city is laid with Stone, explaining why it was initially known as Lyhnidas, derived from Latin (an exquisite gemstone radiating brightness).

After Lunch we head back to Tirana
